Plan for the Plastics Division
Getting Acquainted from a Personal Angle
investing in both fields.
Describe the process of formulating
the strategic plan…
Ilan:
The strategic work began with a
startup session, with the participation
of
Michael Levi
,
the Chairman of Nilit,
and
Arie Gottlieb
,
the company’s
General Manager, where we presented
our vision, and the objectives that Nilit
envisages for the Plastics Division in the
coming years were outlined.
The work process encompassed a long
series of meetings and workshops, with
the full collaboration of senior managers
of the Plastics Division from various
fields with the McKinsey consultants.
During these work sessions a great
deal of information was transmitted
and options for development were
scrutinized. Three additional meetings
of the steering committee were held for
updating, coordinating and focusing.
In the middle of July, the new multiyear
strategic program was presented to the
steering committee and to the strategic
committee of the Board of Directors
and won their total support. The
plan includes clear recommendations
regarding the reinforcement of existing
product lines, the addition of new
products to the product basket and
the expansion of activity to additional
markets, accompanied by a detailed
timetable for every activity that is
required in order to implement the
strategy.
Currently the Nilit Group in general
and the Plastics Division in particular
face the challenge of implementing the
strategic plan. I’m convinced that with
our excellent management team and
the devoted employees of the Plastics
Division at all sites, together with the
support of Nilit’s management and
owners,we will lead the Plastics Division
to further successes.
Dr.ArnoWolf
VP Sales, Nilit Plastics Europe (NPE)
ArnoWolf
,

management jobs in marketing and sales, joined Nilit’s Plastics
Division in March 2012. His last position at EMS Chemie was

years in the United States with Honeywell and Hoechst/Ticona.
Arno, who was born in Germany, has a PhD in chemistry from
the Johannes Gutenberg University; he did his doctoral thesis at the Max
Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Prior to joining industry, he devoted an
additional year to a post-doctorate at the institute of Science and Engineering
in Gainesville, Florida, in the United States.
Arno is married to
Jutta
and is the father of three sons. The family resides
in Switzerland.
Career:
Arno began his career in the polymer research division of
the chemical giant Hoechst in Frankfurt. He later moved to the United
States, where he engaged in marketing and business development and
accumulated experience in selling unique polymers, including leading
the global activity of Hoechst’s Ticona Division and the development of
applications related to a new family of liquid crystal polymers (LCPs);
he was also global business manager for barrier materials at Honeywell.
Upon the family’s return to Europe,he joined EMS-Chemie in Switzerland.
Arno
:
It was a one-of-a-kind experience to see how the focus on
unique polymers in conjunction with polymerization, compounding
and application development generates a higher than average EBIDTA
margin.
Hobbies
:
Photography, mountain trips and skiing; also teaching in school
and university, along with being a football coach for teenagers.
Challenges
:
To motivate colleagues while sharing his professional
experience.
Arno:
I’m happy to have joined the company and I already
feel that I’m part of the family. I am struck by people’s readiness to
improve and succeed as individuals and as an organization and I will do
my utmost to contribute to Nilit’s growth and success.
