Building a Green Future - Shikun & Binui with the Community and the Environment Revital Rosen: “It touched me to work for a company that allows us to get up right in the middle of the chaos surrounding the submission of quarterly reports and change the atmosphere into one of giving, abound with emotions and love - all for sake of the children who eagerly awaited our arrival.” Revital Rosen has been a bookkeeper at Shikun & Binui - Renewable Energy Ltd for approximately a year. She is a regular volunteer at the ‘Gmilut Hasadim’ charity center in her home town of Lod, where she assists in distribution of food for the needy. Revital shared her experiences of Shikun & Binui’s 'Day of Good Deeds': “At first, I couldn’t really understand the significance of the event as in any case we try to do good every day of the year. However, it touched me to work for a company that enabled us to get up right in the middle of the chaos surrounding the submission of quarterly reports and change the atmosphere into one of giving, abound with emotions and love - all for sake of the children who were eagerly awaiting our arrival. The excitement was in the air as soon as we arrived at the school. The children waited for the signal that allowed them to begin the activity, and it was at that moment that the connection was made. They hugged us, asked questions, and told us about themselves and their families, that they too would want to receive such a gift. There are no proper words to describe their joy. When we finally made it to the dessert, everyone laughed, and the children ate almost everything before the sweets made it to the skewer... towards the end of the day we played with the children. Tsahi , my supervisor, read them a story and I spoke with several children who told me stories of life. As a mother to my own little girls, it excited me to see how such small efforts – which were not obvious to them - made the children so happy. It also gave me a lot. I would be glad to participate in any activity that could endow me and those around me with a sense of true giving, for we have all found ourselves in situations of hardship at some or other point in our lives.” “It feels good to do good!” What our employees say “The change starts in ourselves” 54
