Building a Green Future - Shikun & Binui with the Community and the Environment Expanding the Circles of Influence With Children and Youth During 2012 we will be expanding the scope of the following activities: • Building a Green Future with ‘Ort Network’ Students – This is our fourth consecutive year of activities, now expanded to include five schools. Our objectives are to increase environmental awareness and encourage environmental initiatives at the school as well as in the community. • Young Business Leaders – Again, we have been active here for four consecutive years. We provide support to a Haifa youth group from a lower socio-economic background, in association with Carmel Tunnels and with ‘Shikun & Binui - Solel Boneh’ employees who work in the north. Our purpose is to increase awareness of the principles of green construction in these young people by instilling within them social and environmental values. This will increase the success-rate of them becoming responsible managers and leaders. • Nature Field School – This is our fourth consecutive year of adoption. We plan to construct a sports field using green construction principles. The new field will enable the school to host other schools from the area and strengthen their own position as a leader. The entire restoration project is due to be carried out by ‘Shikun & Binui - Solel Boneh’. • Hadassah Neurim – We are examining the possibility of restoring the school’s historical arch – to be undertaken by ‘Shikun & Binui - Solel Boneh’. “Adopt a Soldier” - For the Benefit of IDF Soldiers • For the third consecutive year we have adopted soldiers of the IDF Anti-Terrorist Training Unit as part of the ‘Adopt a Soldier’ program. Alongside the regular activities of both employees and soldiers we emphasize the inclusion of soldiers within our community activities and in particular we offer support to Lone Soldiers and soldiers of lower socio-economic background. “Building a Green Future” “The Community Relations Plan for 2012 ” 62
