Congressman
Robert Hurt
,
who represents Virginia’s Fifth District
in the US House of Representatives, visited Nilit America in April, as
part of a series of meetings with business leaders. He noted that companies
such as Nilit help him keep up to date regarding the impact of American
energy policy on commercial firms.
The congressman emphasized that it
is important to limit the burden of
fuel prices on companies, in order to
preserve their success.
Recently Nilit America hosted two
other distinguished representatives
from the state government ofVirginia:

Secretary of Commerce
and Trade and
Mary Rae Carter
,
Deputy Secretary of Trade, who are
working with the plant in order to
improve the quality of the electricity
supply.

Slimming Down for Health!
◄
PeggyAdkins
,
a lab technician,initiated a slimming contest.Fourteen
employees responded to the challenge and each participant donated
$10 for the prizes that would be awarded to the victors. On 1 May, the
winners were announced:
Mike Martin
,
a technical operator, who shed 26
pounds of his weight, won first prize in the amount of $100;
Valaire Pilson
,
a quality leader who shed 14 pounds, won $40.
Hollie Price
,
Training
Instructor who lost 10 pounds took third place.
The total weight that the participants lost during the two months of the
competition was nearly 90.6 pounds.Thanks to Peggy and congratulations to
the participants. Stick with it!

Receives a Supplier Service
Award from its customer,
Rockwell Automation

On 12 April, at the EMEA
conference – the fourth
Rockwell
Automation
Supplier
Conference, which took place in Poland
–
Nilit was awarded the Supplier Award
for 2012, in recognition of its focus on
the customer.
Rockwell Automation is a global supplier
of controls for industrial automation
and information solutions, from isolated
components to combined systems,
for end users and for equipment
manufacturers (OEMs).
The award was given to Nilit Plastics
Europe (NPE) for its activity and efforts
in 2011 to guarantee a high standard and
continuity of service, through a robust
and profitable partnership and an in-
depth focus on customer requirements.
Nilit Plastics Supports Sports Clubs in Germany

The company decided to focus its annual budget for donations on
causes for children and youth, by supporting sports clubs and local
projects. It recently transferred a donation to a kindergarten in Aitern for
purchasing a new swing.
Last spring the company financed the uniforms for the youth team of theWehr
sports club. The team’s coach is an NPG employee and some of the young
athletes are children of Nilit employees. In the coming weeks, clothing with the
Nilit logo will also be supplied to the team for the Utzenfeld sports club.

colleagues represented NPI with
distinction in the
Milano Relay
Marathon 2012
that took place on 12
April:
Davide Brazzale
from technical
service, who covered 13.5 km;
Ivan
Montefusco
,
Tanya’s brother and our
pizza provider – 10 km; the “financial”
runner
Gabriele Muzio
– 10.7
km; and
Davide Meli
completed the last 8 km.
The marathon also constitutes a charity
event where part of the registration fees
are transferred to
NPOs.The team from
Nilit elected to
transfer the donation
to the Capuchin
missionaries.
